Our Service
We’ll take care of your feet so you can live your best life.
Step 1 - Comprehensive Nursing Assessment
We start each session with a complete, careful nursing assessment. First, your nurse will examine the temperature and color of your skin, looking for any old or new lesions. Next, your nurse will assess the structure of your toenails, noting any thickened or misshapen nails. The sole of your foot is then inspected for corns and calluses. At this point, a few brief tests are taken to determine if the feet have any loss of protective sensation (LOPS). This is vital to be aware of, especially for people with diabetes. Lastly, your in-home nurse will take a look at your heels for cracks and dryness, as well as the area between your toes for any possible fungus, blisters or corns.
Step 2 - Skin and Nail Care
Routine care is required to maintain healthy feet and prevent any serious complications from arising. After a thorough assessment, your nails will be treated to a relaxing cleansing treatment. Your nurse will gently trim, file, and buff your nails, and follow by carefully smoothing down any calluses.
Step 3 - Gentle Restorative Massage
Following the skin and nail treatments, your nurse will conduct a light foot massage with a moisturizer. You’ll be advised on the best topical products for daily protection & care.
Step 4 - Next Steps to Get You Feeling Your Best!
Finally, your shoes and gait will be assessed for any areas of unever wear, as well as balance and stability. Your expert foot & nail care nurse will provide you with daily home care recommendations, and encourage you to ask any questions about your specific needs.
